This week we are heading to Winnipeg Harvest. We will MEET THERE for 7:00 p.m. and will be done at 8:30.

Adults are welcome too! Please let me know ASAP if you are coming as we are limited to 25 people.

Rock the River!

Sorry this is late - things keep popping up on me!  

So it's finally here! Rock the River is this Saturday from 4-9 p.m.  and it is FREE!  We will meet at The Forks around 3:45 in front of Sugar Mountain Express (the train cars at Waterfront Dr & Forks Market Rd.) We'll also meet there for pickup shortly after 9 p.m. Please let me know by Friday who all is coming - bring friends!

Parents, you're also welcome and encouraged to come too! It will help me out with keeping track of everyone in a large crowd and who knows, you might enjoy yourself!  I'm not sure how many people total they're expecting and if it will be a zoo or not ... I'll have my cell with me; make sure you have my number in case you're having trouble finding us or something changes.  Texts is the best way to go!

Teens can leave early if they like - 5 hours might be a bit much.  They can use my phone to reach you if they don't have their own, and we can arrange something then.  Or, they can leave on their own if you make that clear to me ahead of time.

Impact! New Youth Year Starts This Week!

Hey everyone!  

Well, it's that time of year again!  Youth group will get underway this week on Friday, from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at the church.

This year we are calling youth "Impact!" and, as the name suggests, it's all about God and the impact He has on our lives.  Not only that, but it's also about the impact that we, even as teenagers, can have on the world around us when we live centred on Christ's love.  I've been thinking and working on this theme for the past two months and am very excited to see what God has in store for us this year.  For both the parents and teens out there, I ask you to join with me in prayer throughout the year. This is the first and most important step we can take together.

This year will see us serving more often than last year and I am excited for that.  Every second month we will be going to Winnipeg Harvest to help them in their sorting at the warehouse.  These nights are open to everyone, not just teens.  I hope that these nights will become a special evening where young, old, and in-between serve side-by-side.  Willyn and myself have also had discussions about possibly doing something to bless people on the streets of our downtown-core and we hope to be able to do something this year.

This year will be busy - especially the fall.  We have Rock the River coming up quickly, and also will be going to Winkler Bible Camp in November for the MB Youth Retreat.  Be sure to check the blog often for now (changes are coming to the church website soon which will keep everything in one place finally!)

Look forward to seeing everyone at our first night of Impact! this Friday!
